Soft Evidence brings together thirteen emerging artists who explore the subtle traces of being human. Through intimate gestures, personal stories, and material encounters, their works become soft evidence of vulnerability, memory, and desire.Showcasing an array of mediums and approaches, the exhibition sets a particular enquiry into today’s visual and photographic discourse. Together, the works bear witness that the human experience is not an act of certainty, but an embrace of questioning and doubt.

Sebastian Alten

Sebastian Alten (b. 1983) has a background in media studies, sociology and film production. His artistic practice is rooted primarily in analogue photography and darkroom printing. In his recent large-format silver gelatin works, he explores the conditions of appearance, tracing the threshold between disclosure and withdrawal.

Daria Artemova | Passing Through

Daria Artemova is a Ukrainian artist whose black-and-white photographic practice explores impermanence, memory and the emotional space between presence and absence. Through her series Passing Through shaped by movement and blur, she creates atmospheric images that linger between observation and feeling.

Leonardo Flores | 13.90€ + Tips

Leonardo Flores (1989 Mexico) holds a degree in visual arts. Interested in the infraordinary, he seeks to challenge viewers perception of everyday life. He presents a collection of envelopes in which he received his tips while working as a waiter, restaurant order tickets produced continuously during his shifts, and photographs that document the sweat left on his work garments. Together, these traces form an archive of everyday labor, reflecting on the relationship between work, value, and its transformation into artistic practice.

Luca Gaspard

Luca Gaspard (b. 1997) works with photography and selected materials. He explores traces of time, use, and touch. His photographic observations focus on surfaces and spaces where human change and personal and social tensions converge. Photography and material influence and reinforce each other through their interplay, creating a distinct layer of vulnerability.

Vicky Hristova | Chosen Family

Through my work as a journalist, I tell stories of people whose identities are often misunderstood. Chosen Family continues this commitment to representation, but turns the camera towards those closest to me. I started photographing my closest friends as an intimate way of recognition, a way to say “I see you, and I love you”. Chosen Family is a “thank you” to those who have held me, stayed with me, and made me who I am today.

Zuzanna Maria Kałużna

Zuzanna Maria Kałużna (b. 1986) follows an associative and experimental working process. Photographs, image fragments, and self-portraits enter into dialogue with one another, forming an open arrangement. Autobiographical traces give rise to visual connections. Between memory, the present, and imagination, a pictorial space unfolds that resists a linear narrative and invites viewers to form their own connections.

Herkusho Kats | Reflections of an iconography

Herkusho is a trained architect, photographer, and interdisciplinary artist. Her practice blends intuition, research, and poetic blurriness, and has focused in recent years on the past of places and the stories they carry. The works on show—a video essay and a series of 3D collages—evoke reflections on iconography within historic events.

Klára Kopečková | Petrichor

Klára Kopečková (b. 1992, Czechia) is a lens-based artist working across photography and installation. Her practice reflects on adaptation and the ways emotional states take physical form. In Petrichor—taking its name from the scent of rain after a dry spell—photographs printed on fabric create an immersive environment for visitors to move through, inviting an embodied experience of change, sensory memory, and emotion.

Kevin Pawlak (b. 2000, Bochum, Germany) works with photography and archival material. His work explores questions of identity, migration, class, and queerness. For „Mach deine Schule, sonst wirst du wie ich, eine Putzfrau (Study hard, otherwise you’ll end up like me, a cleaner),” he returns with his mother to places from their shared past in Germany’s Ruhr region.

Charlotte Stella | Visibility can be a Regulatory Act

Charlotte Stella works with analogue photography and cyanotype. In Visibility can be a Regulatory Act, black-and-white photographs become cyanotypes depicting natural and artificial structures emerging through light and shadow. Informed by a legal feminist perspective, her work explores how visibility is never neutral but can be produced, regulated, and denied through law and political power.

Mariia Vydrenko

Mariia Vydrenko’s (Ukraine, Kyiv) artistic practice addresses the processing of personal and shared experiences against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. She uses analogue media in opposition to the manipulation and anaesthetising effect of digital documentary imagery. In her recent darkroom prints and Super 8 video, 3 layers of “new reality” are uncovered: interaction with the symbolic object embedded from the military into the urban, the reality of those involved with the military in the rear (a friend who develops tactical gear for the army in his workshop) and the affected intimacy of private space and conversations.

Anh Vu | Pacing

Anh Vu (b. 1990) is trained in medicine, art history, philology, and culture-sensitive psychiatric-ethnological research. She collects field notes from her life reality shaped by Post-Covid Syndrome and ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). This condition dictates her artistic methodology. Her autoethnographic long-term research project Pacing is an invitation into a mixed-media microcosm of care, longing, ableism, and systemic violence.

Cosmic Air‘ richtet den Blick auf das Element Luft – lebensnotwendig, allgegenwärtig und zugleich zunehmend bedroht. In Zeiten der Klimakrise und steigender CO₂-Emissionen gerät ihre Qualität immer stärker unter Druck.

Die Ausstellung wirft wie aus einer Vogelperspektive einen visionären Blick auf unsere Welt. Sie versteht sich als Appell, Luft als kostbare Ressource wahrzunehmen und verantwortungsvoll mit unserer Umwelt umzugehen. 

Hiermit vereint sie eine ganze Vielfalt an Perspektiven: Atmosphärische Ansichten von Luft und Himmel, visionäre grüne Städte, die mögliche Zukunftsbilder urbanen Lebens entwerfen, bis hin zu Luft aus aller Welt. Sie erzählt vom Adler hoch oben in Freiheit, fliegenden Fabelwesen und utopischen Raumfahrtszenarien, die der Luft mit einem träumerischen oder ganz poetischen Blick begegnen.

Memory Foam – an ingenious substance created by NASA for the comfort and protection of astronauts, consists of foam cells that are porous, receptive and capable of producing an infinite expression of potential forms.

Likewise, the collective works in Memory Form(s) demonstrate the receptivity and diverse  practices of these graduates whose work traverses digital media, painting, installation, sound, sculpture and performance.

ON HER WAY

30 Jahre Frauenmuseum Berlin

1995 als Förderverein Frauenmuseum Berlin gegründet, ist der Verein seit ca. 2005 ohne festen Ort mit wechselnden Kooperationen im Bereich der Bildenden Kunst aktiv. Die Ausstellung bietet nun die seltene Gelegenheit, alle an diesem fluiden Museum beteiligten Künstlerinnen mit aktuellen Arbeiten zu erleben. Im Sinne des Netzwerkgedankens gibt die Ausstellung sowohl dem Individuellen der einzelnen Positionen Raum, als auch dem Gemeinsamen dieser über Jahre gewachsenen Künstlerinnen Gruppe.

Der Titel ON HER WAY ist einem Zitat der indischen Autorin und Menschenrechtsaktivistin Arundhati Roy entnommen, die schrieb „Another world is not only possible, she is on her way, on a quiet day I can hear her breathing.“ Die Welt der Zukunft kann nach Roy weiblich visualisiert werden – und kann sich den erschreckenden globalen Entwicklungen der Gegenwart als ein ermutigendes Bild und als Bekenntnis zur Zuversicht entgegenstellen. ON HER WAY betont außerdem sowohl die individuelle Entwicklung der einzelnen Künstlerin als auch das Transitorische, Prozesshafte, das im gemeinsamen Wachsen einer Gruppe angelegt ist.

Inspiriert von der Idee des Symposions, bei dem in der griechischen Antike im Zusammenhang mit einem feierlichen Festmahl gemeinsam grundlegende Fragen der Welt diskutiert wurden, bringen die achtundzwanzig Künstlerinnen das zum Gespräch mit, was ihnen aktuell unter den Nägeln brennt. Es entsteht damit ein in sechs Kapitel gegliederter Rundgang durch ihre „Wege der Welterzeugung“ (Nelson Goodman), ein Überblick der Themen und Strategien, die in diesem Künstlerinnen- Netzwerk aktuell lebendig sind.

In 2026, the independent artists’ collective pilote marks its tenth anniversary with the group exhibition Decade x Dialogue. Bringing together current and former members alongside invited artistic positions, the exhibition initiates a polyphonic exchange that reveals the collective’s evolving working relationships visible while opening them to new perspectives.

Conceived as both a process-oriented survey and a discursive platform, Decade x Dialogue reflects on collective practice between shared history and future artistic inquiries. The exhibition addresses key questions at the intersection of humans and nature, examining the increasingly ambiguous entanglements in a technologically shaped present. It questions presumed hierarchies, illuminates co-existence and hybridization, and positions humans as part of larger processes.

Particular attention is given to processes of temporality and sedimentation, understood as the continuous inscription of experiences, images, and material as well as the immaterial traces of individual and collective spaces of memory. The participating artistic positions, research and reflect on traces both as relics of past actions and as active agents in the production of future meaning.

Another focus lies on artistic engagements with archives—as epistemic structures, poetic repositories, and critical infrastructures of visual culture. Here, archives are not conceived as static sites of preservation but as dynamic systems of reorganization, overwriting, and the renegotiation of history. In this context, spaces are examined in both their physical and virtual dimensions: as hybrid fields of experience between analog and digital spheres in which perception, memory, and presence are newly configured.
Images are no longer understood as discrete objects but as processual entities moving through continuous transformations, distributions, and recontextualizations. Decade x Dialogue thus positions itself as a reflective space in which artistic practices engage with the material, technical, and discursive conditions of their own present.

Founded in 2016, pilote is a collective of internationally active artists connected through Berlin, who collaboratively develop site-responsive exhibition formats. Initially conceived as an artist-run gallery, it later evolved into a mobile curatorial exhibition project operating across changing locations. At the core of pilote’s practice is a collective approach described as a polyphonic co-existence: participating artists maintain their individual positions while working together thematically and curatorially on joint projects, often in collaboration with guest curators and additional contributors.

Rather than functioning as a traditional gallery, the collective understands itself as a flexible structure for production and presentation that experiments with exhibition formats and different media. It connects photography, video, installation, sculpture, drawing, and performance alike.

Berlin – versammelt Fotografie- und Videopositionen, in denen Veränderung nicht als Ausnahme
erscheint, sondern als Grundzustand – als kontinuierlicher Prozess von Transformation,
Verschiebung und Neuverhandlung.
Die Arbeiten thematisieren Wandel und die Auswirkungen der gegenwärtigen Schnelllebigkeit auf
unterschiedliche Szenarien: in der Natur, urbanen Räumen, dem Selbst, in der Vorstellung von
Heimat sowie im Spannungsfeld zwischen Mensch und Technologie. Auch historische Prozesse
werden nicht als abgeschlossen betrachtet, sondern als etwas, das nachwirkt, sich überlagert und
in der Gegenwart neu lesbar wird.
Neben diesen strukturellen Veränderungen rücken zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen in den
Fokus. Intimität, Nähe und Distanz werden ebenso verhandelt wie auch Fragen der
Selbstinszenierung und des Sich-Zeigens im privaten und öffentlichen Raum. Dabei entstehen
Momente, in denen Verletzlichkeit, Beobachtung und Projektion ineinandergreifen.
Als verbindendes Element wirkt Resonanz: das Nachhallen von Bildern, Bewegungen und
Begegnungen. Die Ausstellung versteht sich als offener Raum, in dem individuelle Erfahrung auf
kollektive Prozesse trifft und Wandel nicht nur sichtbar, sondern spürbar wird. Alles, immer in
Bewegung, im Abgleich, in (Dis)balance.

BERLIN, MÜNCHEN, LISSABON — Der Kurator Martim Brion gibt die Ausstellungsserie Experience of Delight bekannt, die im April 2026 startet. Mit über 25 internationalen Künstlern initiiert das Projekt einen präzisen visuellen Dialog zwischen figurativer und abstrakter Kunst und hinterfragt dabei zeitgenössische Klischees sowie die „Ready-made“-Mentalität moderner Konzepte.

Der Titel der Ausstellung bezieht sich auf die Behauptung des amerikanischen Malers Robert Ryman, dass Kunst eine „Erfahrung der Freude“ (experience of delight) bieten sollte – nicht als oberflächlicher Genuss, sondern als tiefes Gefühl der Erfüllung, das aus aktiver Beobachtung und kritischer Auseinandersetzung entsteht.

„Diese Serie entspringt dem Bedürfnis nach einem neugierigen und suchenden Leben“, so Kurator Martim Brion. „In einer Ära, die oft von Tropen der Vergangenheit dominiert wird, fordert Experience of Delight offene Fragestellungen und eine Rückkehr zur Kraft des Objekts und der Unmittelbarkeit des Sehens“.

Die Tournee 2026 macht an drei renommierten europäischen Standorten Station:

• Berlin: Kunstquartier Bethanien – Eröffnung am 17. April 2026
• München: Halle 50 – Eröffnung am 1. Oktober 2026
• Lissabon: Duplex AIR – Eröffnung am 20. November 2026

Das Projekt wird durch neue Texte namhafter Kuratoren begleitet, darunter Dr. Mathias List (Museum für Konkrete Kunst), Rick Vercauteren (ehemaliger Direktor des Museums Venlo) und Martina Slavova.

Über den Kurator: Martim Brion (* 1986) ist bildender Künstler und Kurator, dessen Arbeit häufig die Schnittstelle zwischen formaler Abstraktion und philosophischer Untersuchung thematisiert. Er lebt und arbeitet in Portugal und Deutschland. Seine Praxis basiert auf der Überzeugung, dass Kunst ein Raum für den aktiven, kritischen Dialog bleiben muss.

Es gibt keinen Menschen ohne Welt, schreibt die Dichterin Anne Carson und verweist auf das enge Geflecht aus Einflüssen, Ereignissen und Beziehungen, das jeden Menschen umgibt. In Mirjana Vrbaškis Seminar der Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie begaben sich neun Fotograf:innen auf eine einjährige Entdeckungsreise zu den Welten, die in ihnen und um sie herum existieren. Sie gingen der Frage nach, wie diese persönlichen Universen ihre Arbeiten bereichern können und warum gilt: Je persönlicher eine Arbeit, desto universeller wird sie sein. In der Ausstellung „No Person Without a World“ berichten die Fotograf:innen von ihren Begegnungen mit Orten, Menschen, Geschichten, sich selbst. Sie zeigen intimste Erfahrungen, von Verlust und Schmerz bis hin zu Liebe und Gemeinschaft, die auf bewegende Weise universell sind.

“There is no person without a world,” writes poet Anne Carson, referring to the intricate web of influences, events, and relationships that surrounds each human being. In Mirjana Vrbaški’s seminar at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie, nine photographers embarked on a year-long discovery of the worlds that exist within and around them. They explored ways in which their personal universes enrich their work and why it is, that the more personal a work is, the more universal it becomes. In the exhibition “No Person Without a World,” the photographers present their intimate encounters with places, people, stories, and themselves and, by doing so, touch on a range of profoundly human experiences — from loss and pain to love and companionship.

In der 13. Ausgabe von Monster Exhibition erkunden ausgewählte Künstler*innen aus zwei unterschiedlichen Kulturen das Thema „Evolving“ anhand der Symbolik des Monsters.

Einst Metapher für überwältigende Naturkatastrophen und Angst, hat sich das Monster weiterentwickelt und verkörpert nun innere Zerrissenheit, politische und ökologische Instabilität, soziale Ängste, aber auch Hoffnung und Wiedergeburt. Ein Höhepunkt dieser Sonderausgabe ist unsere Zusammenarbeit mit drei renommierten Berliner Künstler*innen – David Pher, Egle Otto und Marco Reichert – als Gastkünstler*innen. Ihre unverwechselbaren und zugleich ausdrucksstarken Werke repräsentieren die dynamische und vielfältige Berliner Gegenwartskunstszene, und es ist uns eine Ehre, die ikonischen Arbeiten dieser drei Künstler erstmals in unserer Ausstellung zu präsentieren. Daher wird erwartet, dass diese Zusammenarbeit der Ausstellung eine beträchtliche Aufmerksamkeit auslösen wird.

In its 13th edition of Monster Exhibition, selected artists from two distinct cultures explore the theme “Evolving” through the symbolic lens of MONSTER. Once a metaphor for overwhelming natural disaster and fear, the monster has evolved – now embodying inner turmoil, political and ecological instability, social anxiety, and also hope and rebirth.

One of the highlights of this special edition is our collaboration with 3 prominent artists from Berlin – David Pher, Egle Otto, and Marco Reichert, as Guest Artists. Their distinct yet resonant artworks represent Berlin’s powerful and diverse contemporary art scene, and we are honored to bring together these 3 artists’ iconic works for the first time at our exhibition. As such, this collaboration is expected to attract considerable attention to the exhibition.
